So I take you've never had to USDA tag any animals ever? We've tagged and bangs vacc. female cattle for 35+ years, infact longer than that, also breeding bulls. Used to do all heifer calfs before leaving ranch or before breeding first time. Now we only bangs female cattle kept for our own breeding or for sale as replacement heifers. All feeding heifers and steers are sold approved feedlots or in states no bangs vacc. required for movement.

Never been a problem vet would bangs when preg checking. Or if wanted could haul to salebarn, vacc. and tagged before sale at commission house.

It's nothing new for us, only darn change is a RFID tag. I look to see Idaho give up bangs vaccinations. I don't want to see that happen. But the push is to stop it. Two things I never want to see is bangs and trich again.
