northeastern Ohio | Thanks guys. I never have time in the summer to go look at barns when fans are running. All my research is done in the winter and I've seen fans in many different orientations, but can't tell if it was done for convenience or cow comfort.
I put four 48" fans over my new freshening/dry cow/sick pens. I decided to mount these directly over the center of the pens and point them straight down (fans horizontal). Seems to be keeping the bedding drier and the cows are comfortable.
Still thinking on the freestall fans. Thanks again.
