Southern MN | We did exactly as you described a few years ago to incorporate corn prees ahead of the rolling baskets. This year my son wanted to put 32% on with the field cultivator and I said absolutely not. But than after looking at setting up the planter relented, said we would try it for one year. For extra protection I spent a few hundred dollars on rust preventatives and we tried to spray every bare piece of metal we could find on the field cult. Used it on 80% of our corn acres and the only bolts showing any rust are the u bolts holding the rolling baskets on. Don’t think I can email because the email I am signed up to agtalk with I no longer use. We have a CIH field cult if I remember will try to post some photos today or tomorrow on this thread.
We are in MN where even in a dry year the filed cult tires pick up mud so I am not worried about volatilization if it is incorporated a little bit. | |
