From what I remember of 2020, the market bled off through the summer due to rather good crop prospects and the market wondering why China wasn’t buying grains as they promised to via our agreement from the trade war. We hit a multi year low a couple weeks into August and then a few days later the derecho hit so China finally started buying every day for months on end.

As always there are many factors that contribute to markets. As always there is no way to know how much if any market movement is because of X vs. Y

Which leaves us guessing. Same as always. But what I said happened did happen and it at least has more evidence to support a connection theory than any reasoning that was used to shut down the entire world during covid. (That’s my opinion)

Do you remember any government assistance to farmers during late 2020 that were said to be money to offset marketing losses because of the whole covid shutdown of the world?
Was there any assistance I described or not?
