Subject: RE: what did your basis do this week?

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
Steady to narrower (improved.)

Local E-plant narrowed nearby basis a nickel. Local river terminal widened nearby basis a nickel for a couple days when they changed their nearby cash bid month from N to U making their cash bid basically unchanged and have since narrowed their basis a few pennies again since switching to U. Birds still have or are recovering from bird flu so no basis improvement at the local feed grinders. New crop basis has remained unchanged.

River flooding has not helped to narrow basis in MN. Most rivers have crested so hopefully barges will be able to load again now that river levels will slowly start dropping. There should be no issues floating top full barges anymore this summer for shippers to use that as an excuse to widen basis.
