It was a new seeding, just planted last year. I used oats as a nurse crop, hadn't cleaned them, and they must have been loaded with buckhorn seed. I can see the darned stuff right in drill rows. The alfalfa is there, but the buckhorn is so thick that it's choking the alfalfa right out. The buckhorn grows so fast, the alfalfa can't get ahead of it. I just cut it two weeks ago and the buckhorn had headed already.
