Subject: Combine Access and Utility Poles

I have a 40ac field against a road with electric company poles running down it. No issues for the last 80+ years or whenever electricity was put there.

Now a broadband company wants to run fibre optic cable on the poles to a single, new customer and they are telling me that the new cable may be too low for combines to pass under and tough luck!?

That would cut off our ability to farm the land which seems ridiculous. If the poles need to be upgraded to gain extra height while maintaining separation between power and data it seems that is their problem or the electric company's problem, surely? Why has it become my problem?

I get that they can put their cable on the poles with permission/lease from the electric company, but there must be some kind of minimum height required for farming access?

Does anyone have any pointers of where to look to do more research on this topic?

Thanks!
