Latimer, Iowa (north central) | I posted some pics on June 16th of a few fields so here are the same fields two weeks later. Overall we can’t complain but it’s been too wet. Just had another 2-3 inches yesterday.
Oats are coming fast, pretty well all turned. I have started combining July 17th the last 3 years and it’s looking earlier this year.
On that note, we are working at putting together our oat mill project, did soil borings on site today so hoping for no surprises. The demand for products has much higher than expected so the project has expanded to 3M a year of processing so will need more oats!
I am having a harvest demo day/oat mill/cover crops day on July 13th at noon at our bin site. Will have lunch, talk about the mill project, and hopefully have a couple different combines running in the field on oats. Will have the meeting rain or shine.
