nc ks | There is maybe 4 different spindle versions. First has that tiny threaded part that if it came slightly loose, the washer would cut it and then it would break. Then they came out with one that had a keyway type notch in it and the washer had a tab that locked it in the keyway so it wouldn't spin, but the cotter key in the nut would shear and spin itself off. Pretty sure there was another update after that but I can't recall specifics, and then we get to the current version that has a much larger threaded part and a bend tab keeper washer. On the left rear wheel, the bend tab washer is not heavy duty enough and it will split and the nut loosens up. We started putting 2 bend tab washers in and that has worked. Our dealer has kits for us to update to some type of lock nut setup, but we haven't installed yet. We have only had trouble on combines with the wide rear tires. Flagship 20 series through 50 series.
Part of our mandatory morning inspection is that there is no gap between housing and hub.
