I was there when the pipeline was being built. Richard Nixon hired me. The Army was trying to figure out how to defend the pipeline. They had us sleep out at 35 below. 3 sleeping bags inside of each other. Plain gasoline heater in the tent. It got dark about 1:30 and light about 10. Long night. One of the things I know I could do but choose not to.
