Funds have a lot of heft but they are still rookies when it comes to contract delivery. Commercials were the primary buyers of what the funds sold. If funds keeps pushing the short end of the market, they will run out natural sellers when they need to cover. Commercials are fine with funds and farmers balancing against each other as long as commercials get their needed physical bushels in the end. Funds get too short and commercials will hold their feet to the fire until prices rise enough to get farmers to begin selling grain again and physical starts flowing. | |
