I wonder if 24-36” samples would show more? And the corn should root to 24”?
We had quite a bit of rain one year, nothing like you had though, and there was more in in the 1-2’ and 2-3 foot range than the top 12”. This was when the corn was a foot tall so hadn’t rooted down or taken much out for the plant yet.
