It is not about "proof of ownership" like the state BMV.
It is about the Deere systems knowing who it belongs to so that the equipment shows up on the new owner's Operations Center and is removed from the old owners pages.
We traded a combine in three years ago, and we still see it on our Deere Op Center info, because the new owner apparently did not transfer it with Deere.
Also, like you said, the dealer having the serial numbers under your name so they can do a better job looking up parts and doing updates.
You can remove the equipment from your OPs center. Can transfer to someone or just remove.
To the original poster a reason to update the dealership would be for any possible warranty or recall issues. |
