Kalona, IA | I finally bought some flight extensions to put on my 1020 header. Do I remove all of the regular in/out fingers? What screws should I use to fasten to the tube or should I bolt and nut it? I have an air reel so it's not as critical an issue with feeding but my oats lodged pretty badly and I will need to run about 3.5' of oats and alfalfa through it. Occasionally green materials wrap around the auger instead of feeding into the feeder house. Should this stop that and is that why I should remove the fingers?
Or should I swath it and use a pickup header? Have both available but both are 40+ yrs old and kinda a pain!!
