East of Broken Bow | If you Youtube 'Jay Leno's Garage' you can watch Jay talk about one of his old electric cars.
Over 100 years old, and still has the original batteries. They were designed to be taken apart, cleaned, and re-used over and over for the life of the car. The batteries were made by Edison, if I remember right.
Still had pretty limited range, but the performance was not bad compared to other cars of the era.
