Absolutely. Thought of them. Negative stories instantly ran about them in the press to persuade public opinion. People in high places can get stories ran with zero basis of proof or being in the right. Truth has no basis when different circumstances are present.

Will give a couple other examples of what can and does happen. This is not internet bull or whatever any doubters want to call it should they cast doubt just because they don't know about such things or haven't experienced it. I say this because there are those among us who will readily doubt something simply because either they haven't seen it or experienced it.

A man thought he was doing the right thing by alerting authorities upon learning of an organization of people allegedly involved in a long line of alleged crimes against people. A former relative of the alleged leader was stunned and shocked long after finding out things she was too fearful to ever report. She had confided in an acquaintance how she knew she would disappear if she ever spoke to authorities about what she knew. It always gets back to those you don't want to know you said anything. Frustration and fear is what prompted her to ever say anything out loud about it to anyone outside her family. Police will sometimes purposely inform the alleged ones fingered as the source of crimes, about who told them about the wrong doings. One can speculate why this occurs. I have seen this play out over and over.

The man who finally alerted the authorities after seeing and hearing of troubling things for himself. He thought he was simply doing the right thing and never had as much as a traffic offense on his record. When he found a high ranking law enforcement officer's contact info, he called the officer's direct line as an attempt to stop the wrongs being committed and the continued festering of an alleged criminal organization. Guess what happened? Yup, the innocent individual, with zero ties to anything criminal or law breaking in any form, found himself under investigation repeatedly. Doesn't matter that he neve gave his name or the facts of his total innocence. The investigations of the whistleblower went on for years. They followed him when he went on hikes to pray and enjoy beautiful surroundings in various states. Bank records, text messages, emails, phone conversations, friends, family, and so on all meticulously examined. An honest man ends up being labeled as a criminal and it all circumvents the supposed justice system. No court proceedings are needed to accomplish putting innocent people on lists, nor is any guilt or proof required.

The whistleblower ended up being in danger. There are good people in law enforcement just like any other profession, but the system is corrupt.
