Subject: RE: Corn Fungicide

central ILL
Have used it since 2004. Have a Hagie and spray our own. As far as ratings on varieties we were told on one number of corn gray leaf spot rating was 9 out of a 9. He said you’re wasting your money. Sprayed anyway and left different checks. Fungicide sprayed corn made 22 bu/ac more. I have the yield maps to prove it. I don’t take their disease ratings too serious. Most we have ever saw moisture in corn being 1% wetter. If you wait to spray till you see disease you are already to late is what we’ve found out. I want that corn as healthy as I can. I hope nobody sprays fungicide then wouldn’t be as many bushels in the market and the price would go up when I sell corn. Like Ron NE Illinois said standability is also a plus.
