Don't rely on a religious site to explain the reliability of Carbon dating, they have a motive in their 'study'

Carbon dating works well on living things but only for a relatively short time of 25-50,000 years
After 20-25,000 years it becomes more unreliable depending on what you are measuring.
It is only used to measure age of something that was alive at one time so it could take in Carbon 14

There are many other things that can measured to determine age of older things that had been alive as well as when rocks were formed for instance.
It is the same basic process of measuring the deterioration of some element but if what you are measuring never lived then you have to choose an appropriate element for your test
