Subject: RE: Wiring up generator

Haven't experimented with single phase systems but in the 3 phase world, if I had a motor drawing too many amps on start up causing system issues I would put a capacitor on the motor terminals which will reduce inrush amps. If voltage dip on motor start was really bad we would install a capacitor much larger and switch the capacitor out with a contactor once motor has come up to speed.

I wonder if a soft start would work on the AC compressor, don't see why it needs to be up to speed in one second. A slow ramp up in speed shouldn't cause issues with the AC controls.
