Subject: Dry forage crop after wheat

Southwest Michigan
What do you plant after wheat that you can bale as a dry hay crop? I watch a few guys try to double crop Soybeans here every year and it's rarely profitable, at least from what they tell me. I tried sudan grass last year and it made good tonnage but proved impossible to dry. I ended up baling it wet and wrapping it. Made a small profit but not enough to do it again. I have heard of german or foxtail millet on the bigger side or teff on the smaller end of the spectrum. Anyone here find something that works well for them?
