Again, you just can’t grasp the concept that not every acre in Illinois is ice cream dirt.The north end of my county received 17 INCHES more rain than I did after June 30 last year. I suppose in your expert opinion that should have no effect on final yields. The yields in that part of the county were 70-100 bushels better than mine. Do I need to explain to you what an average is?
For the record, as of this moment in time I have the POTENTIAL for the best corn I have ever raised. Does that sound like gloom and doom to you? But I am also enough of a realist to know that it is a long ways from being “MADE” on July 7. I won’t even venture a guess on bean yields this time of year, it almost always comes down to August rain, or the lack thereof.
And no, the coffee shop guys didn’t have a better handle.
