West Central Indiana
I think it hurts yield more the farther along they are. Plus you’re probably gonna have weeds blow thru later because of canopy loss. I had trouble years ago when local co-op messed up and used hoses and mini bulks that had been previously used to spray corn, using Sterling Blue. After a bunch of BS from the manager trying to cover up and lie about there mistakes they finally reported it to there insurance company. I can’t remember exactly what growth stage they were damaged at but it was very early and beans were very small. They looked horrible for a long time but eventually grew out of it and branched very well. Yielded pretty well, so I didn’t raise a fuss about a yield claim. I did however get them to cover all my spraying costs that year, I felt like the manager at least owed me that after lying to higher management and trying to make me look like a fool.
