Subject: Dryland corn

Western OK
Looks like we are going to have some corn to pick. Had an awesome stand with excellent weed control, not sure what it will make. Pulled some ears at random across to different fields. All our early corn was planted end of March into last year's cotton stalks. It's been awful dry with lots of 100 degree days, I think we've had only 6in of rain since January until yesterday when we got 3in. About 70%-80% of the corn ears are either turned down or on their way.

Thinking about trying some double crop in stripper stubble since we got this rain. Did some last year and it worked out.
