Airplane is far and away more efficient the coverage is as good as ground rig because of the mixing of air done by plane prop and speed of spraying.
IMHO
Any product caught by the wing vortices gets lifted up and tends to drift off badly. Watch this video and tell me how happy you would be with this application job. I know there was drift moving around 300 feet sideways this particular morning.
