Subject: RE: Trying to clean up a pond

Central Nebraska

My pond is overloaded with phosphorus but I treated it with Alum about 6-7 years ago so it is bound up on the bottom of the pond.  In 2022 the pond "turned over" and had a tremendous amount of water run through it from a massive hail storm and rain event.  About 3-4 weeks later the duck weed took of and we were unable to kill it.  Didn't know how or what to do.  The strange thing was that the water was crystal clear underneath it.  Last year we had some start to show up and we treated it immediately with flumioxazin and same again this year.  Right now my water is very clear with about 12-15 inches of visibility.  I treat it with pond dye as well.
