NW NC
I’m in NW NC and I don’t think we had a tenth total in June, with many days around 90 degrees and a breeze. We were soggy wet in May. We finally got some rain the first week of July, so some corn went 5-6 weeks without rain. Corn started tasseling for us this week. There’s a lot of talk about upwards of 500k acres of corn in eastern NC being a total loss. The lack of rain hit them when corn would have been tasseling.

I saw a graphic that ranked late May to late June as far as rain goes. It went back 132 years and we were ranked 132 on our area. It’s very uncommon for us to not get thunderstorms at least once a week due to the river and mtns.
