Subject: How to terminate trees in a field?

South Central Illinois

CRP acres,
We are between 2 - 10 year Pollinator Program contracts,
Need to eradicate the trees from the first contract before it goes into the second contract.
Let’s call them five-year-old saplings that have been bush-hogged off.
Some of them are probably more than five years old.
Waist high saplings with a larger root system.
What should be used?
Will 1 pass do it?
1) Round up with 24-D
2) Gramoxone with Dicamba
3) ???????
