coast of Maine
I laugh when I read your Agtalk name,,we have a company in town called Gophers,,,My BIL is in a competing biz,,He calls them GopherGuts..Back to the timing,,We grow green beans,my agronomist explains it this way .We treat at 10% bloom,,use the bloom as a timing mechanism only,,the chems land on the soil and plants, thus the shlerotia \shrooms ,when they begin spitting out spores there is protection,,most of our infection occurs from soil splash,,so when we get a rain (often) here it would normally be bad unless you had chems on.We always do a second app at 50% plus bloom (timing only)as the fungi in that short time frame have built back up due to rain events. If all was super and it never rained between 10% bloom and harvest we would not do the second.Green beans cannot be harvested with any white mold as they rot very quickly in the box as machines at harvest /cleaning spread a few bad areas all over.Just may not fit soybeans IDK.
