I'm assuming it's voles. I'm a long term no-tiller/cover cropper and occasionally have some including this year, but it's never gotten very significant. Similar to a post above, I carefully pour some vole bait down their holes only this time of year, and hope the coyotes and avian plus other predators keep them in check the rest of the year.
A poor man's crop circles I guess, ha.
