| Just heard they are going to lay off another 345 in the waterloo area. on September 20 I assume a lot will be at engine works,we used to have 2 12 hour shifts working 6 days a week right up until harvest and then drop back to 40 hour weeks until we sped back up for spring buying,,,,they hired a bunch so they could go three shifts and pay less overtime,,,One year we worked 7 days a week till the end of September then got laid off all of October for maintenance and machines being replaced,,,but we knew we were going back in November,,,hard to say how long this will last | |
