You must have been really awesome at getting all those switches flipped at exactly the right time.  And never having to wonder what spot you missed if one of them didn't get flipped.   And one foot of overlap on a 20 foot cultivator is 5%.  Look, I don't really disagree with much of what you said, BUT I see the parts of it that technology has actually improved.

And if you want my skeptical side to come out, well,  I'm convinced that swath control, and to a lesser extent guidance, pay no matter what.   Some other things like, say, hydraulic planter downforce system?   If you get hailed or droughted or flooded enough to have a six-digit crop insurance indemnity, then that investment paid you back zero.
