I’m going to say it depends on the model, and how many shields are on the mower. Folks have a 727 air cooled with 61” deck with discharge shield removed, doesn’t blow grass around very bad at all. Just bought a 729 water cooled with the same 61” deck and grass absolutely blows EVERYWHERE with that thing, I need to put the discharge spout/shield on it to try and tame it down
