Subject: RE: Trump shooting

I am actually of the opinion that the shooter's choice of using an AR-style rifle is probably the reason why former President Trump is still with us today.

Shooting an AR-15 prone off a slightly inclined rooftop with a Democrat termed "high-capacity magazine" usually results in a shooter having poor accuracy for reasons obvious to those that actually have a basic understanding of the platform. Also, there is a high probability that the rifle itself was most likely of a plain-Jane, mill-spec configuration, which are NOT well known to have all that great inherent accuracy. Take all that and throw in the human element of the generated adrenaline/fatigue from climbing a rooftop along with the extreme scarcity of time ... and well, we pretty much get exactly how it played out before us ... a nicked ear along with extreme carnage to everything behind.

Cory Mills weighs in on this when he addressed a CNN panel this very morning. At the 6:26 mark, he is correct in saying that the attempted assassin was no marksman, but I am not in complete agreement with his assessment that most basic rifle/ammo combinations give MOA performance.

But there is definitely one thing that can be gathered from this failed assassination attempt, and that is simply sporting an AR-15 does nothing to advance marksmanship. It goes to show that the argument of the AR-15 being a much more capable killing machine is clearly a falsification that is made to instill fear into those who are highly ignorant on topic of firearms.
