Thank you both for the help. My experience is "here" pre emerge does little good even if timed properly. I had used quicloac post for many years with success before going with easier to use Trimec. The formulation I use is labeled for crabgrass and I have used it with excellent success. Thanks again for the good info, much appreciated.
