Location would help.

50 # DAP and 50# AMS is maybe a short 20# of nitrogen. What is your other N sources? Otherwise, your crop is running out of Nitrogen gas……

Edit: fields 3 miles apart when you are in Kansas or OK and your rain events are very localized can be a big deal - esp. if you are in a drought.

Your shanks might also “open” the ground to drying out quicker. You are essentially doing the same thing with a deep ripper shank except you are then “firming/packing” those ripper tracks with your turbo till high speed disk to “seal” the track up.
