Neighbor out in your field looking at your crops

Hi I rent so ground aways away from home and I went down there to check on it.
Have been swathing it in chunks as it matures.
I drive by it today and a local farmer is out in it looking at my swaths. I've never met this guy but I'm aware of who he is.
I thought about getting out and saying something just for a second....I waved and kept going.
Is this normal? How would you have handled this?
