My hot guess is rooting issues. Or lack of nodulation. We forgot to have a winter in this region. Only good cold came with 30” of snow on unfrozen ground. The soil hasn’t ever balanced out and it is gummy and the smell is not that of a happy soil. Any soil I have disturbed has been that way. The beans I have cultivated twice on my organic farm don’t show any yellowing except on headland compacted areas and where water has been standing. I would say bulk density/oxygen issue adds into the above thoughts.
