North Central Illinois | Yeah, most of the guys I know locally my age (the under 40 bracket) are farming collaboratively with a parent. I'm not sure how I count, as I did start out with a few of dad's antiques after he died when I was 18 and still collaborate with my mom, but I've updated all of the row crop equipment on my own dime.
Fair rent is a complex issue though. Sometimes the young guy doesn't want a break on the rent price, but just needs the opportunity to rent it at all. | |
