swmn | Has anyone had any experience controlling a John Deere 1775 with Seedstar2 controls through the VT on a Trimble 1260? The last time I plugged a Deere planter into a Trimble display it was on a 2050 and even in the Precision IQ interface I felt the VT window was too small for my liking so we converted to a 2020 which works well. We are looking at going to a 16 row 1775 with Deere's pneumatic downforce through the display and I'd like to keep that part functional which is why I'm even considering not just pulling the Precision parts off our current 1760 and swapping them over. Our current planter is ground driven with spring downforce but had factory rowcommand clutches. The one we are looking at is ground drive as well so I'm not worried about population control, but it also has factory rowcommand and now air downforce.
My questions are:
Does the Trimble task controller work to control Deere section control accurately and reliably, or even at all?
Are there any other areas of concern, or should I just convert to precision and figure out the airbags, or just buy a 2630? We are running fieldview and I really like the way that interfaces with the gen2 precision monitor. Also we plant a fair amount of seed beans and having our data in climate is required so whatever I do, I don't want to go backwards on that front. I do currently use a fieldview drive to record spray data from a trimble 2050 with Field IQ so I'm hoping I can make the same type setup work if we decided to run the Deere interface in the Trimble display.
I know that I'll probably end up either going to a Deere display or Precision display to be satisfied but I figured I'd toss this out there on the off chance that somebody is running a Deere planter like this and it actually works ok. | |
