Hillsboro, TN | In 2019, my mother 65 years old at the time, had 18" of her colon removed. She had a perforated bowel which had turned septic. She also had several other existing health conditions, the most severe of which is Rheumatoid Arthritis. She had to wear a colostomy bag for almost a year. After re-attachment surgery, she spent about 10 days in a rehab facility, mainly because she had trouble getting around from the R.A. anyway and she lives alone.
All in all, she recovered very well in about a month. I was surprised at how well she handled the whole process given her other health conditions and limitations. I would say hers was a "best case" in those circumstances. | |
