Eastern Nebraska | I work with many of my customer's data that are utilizing G4s and G5s. I use SMS for my data analytics that I provide for them. If you utilize Operations Center as well, here's the solution that I started doing.
Almost all of my customers are sending their data to Operations Center wirelessly. What I ended up doing is waiting until all of the planting/harvest data has been uploaded to their Operations Center account, then I will actually go into Work Analyzer and I will export all of the planting and harvest data as shapefiles. I will then import all of the data into SMS through shapefile import. This allows me to import all of the planting/harvest data into SMS in 15 min or less depending on how many fields they have. I make sure that I save the shapefile import as a template so it's just a matter of importing each field by clicking a button to refresh which field it should go to.
This is assuming that there is already data in SMS with frozen boundaries so the data knows where to go. If it doesn't I keep notes of it so that I can make sure the data where it's supposed to go.
I decided to go this route because it saves so much time instead of trying to read in the raw files and waiting hours for it to read into SMS. | |
