Callicrate Pro bander works pretty slick. Give them a tetanus shot or something with tetanus in it a couple of weeks before you band them and again when you band them. I use Covexcin 8 because we have some on hand most all the time. I don't slit the sack but can see how it might speed things up especially in the winter when flies aren't an issue.
