Pittsburg, Kansas | I have often thought that my wife and I would be much better off eating a heavy lunch then only a light supper. Or eat breakfast and lunch with no dinner.
We have talked about it but it just does not fit our lifestyle or desire. Seems like evening dinner is our time together without the tv or other distractions and we always have a small desert while playing a game together after supper. I guess we could just skip supper and go for the game.
But the two meals, lunch and supper, just fits the way we like to live better. Being retired I don't do enough of importance to worry about breaking for lunch. Back in the days of working always packed a lunch in cooler and lunch was where ever I was working. Often with a sandwich in one hand and steering wheel in the other. Or if doing physical work just a 15 minute sit down break time.
In my dad's day lunch was a brown paper bag with a scramled egg sandwich and in season a fresh tomato and salt shaker. When he was out in the field. He would come in the house for lunch if just doing chores around the farmstead.
