Bought a sprayer that is in great shape mechanically, but looks like it’s never been cleaned. Only sprayed corn so I’m guessing it either atrazine or an atrazine premix all over it. Nozzles, inductor, tank, and booms are all covered in it. Any suggestions on what to include with water to clean it?
Run into this all the time. We do clean outs for guys with pHxr and they see how it improves their water. It unhardens water, drops pH to under 5 and holds it (key for herbicide effectiveness), keeps tanks, lines, and nozzles clean from buildup of atrazine and clay products.
Also, it breaks down salt from a compound to simple salt. Will breakdown salts in herbicides and fertilizer so not choking the plant or building up in soil. With it not being compound salt, it will not eat your sprayer up either.
One other thing it does is increase the oxygen in the water, normally triples from where it started. Plants and soils love oxygen.
Use rate is 16oz per 100 gallons. Can replace any other water treatment you are using for about $.07 per treated gallon.
For example we did a clean out last summer with a guy who did a normal triple rinse. We then asked to treat his water with pHxr. Picture below shows line after 1 rinse with water treated with pHxr. It broke free the atrazine that had built up in the tank and hoses.
