| We have a golden doodle crossed with Anatolian.
She’s a good mix of plays with the kids, not all up in your business and she alerts when someone pulls up, but isn’t too intimidating. Very smart, easy to teach tricks too, doesn’t chase cars. She is about the perfect level of protective if someone she doesn’t know pulls up and the kids are outside. She might would bite someone if they tried to forcefully take the kids. Their friends can come over and rough house all they want and she’s right there in it with them. She doesn’t bark at people she’s met and once she knows we know someone new is here she goes back to playing with kids/cats/herding chickens.
We bring her in at night because she barks at everything when it’s dark. She will sleep through the night and only bark if someone pulls up or cows get out and are in the yard.
Best thing of all is we can do batting practice and I pitch to the boys and she goes and gets the balls and bring them back to me after they hit them. I haven’t tried it with golf yet.
When she was a pup if she got in the road or chased a car messed with cows or chickens or anything else I didn’t like I put her in a crate for a couple hours. I still have to do that now and then. | |
