| I know of a lake in the Sandhills that the old timers said was several hundred acres when they were young. Over time it nearly completely dried up, roads and fences were built where logical, then about 20-25 years ago, the small slough began to grow, has continued to fill and now fences and roads are under water, and has become several hundred acre lake again.
We’ve been here such a short time that it’s really hard to know if a certain part of a farm has usually been a ‘real wetland’ or not. | |
