Subject: Ford 8000 good tractor?

Thinking of getting a Ford 8000 as a backup tractor. I currently use a Ford 7710 to mow and run my New Holland BR 750a round baler. It would be nice to have another tractor that could run my baler if the 7710 breaks down --- it's doesn't happen very often, but had a couple of times. One time it quit on me just as i got started baling a field. It rained over an inch that night on the raked up hay. Anyway, a guy has an 8000 cab tractor for sale locally. Its not as nice as my 7710. My 7710 has heat and air. The 8000 has a full cab, but the glass is out of the tops of both doors because of no air conditioning . And how about fuel efficiency , will the 8000's big 6 cylinder use alot more fuel than the 7710's turbo 4?
