western iowa | I’m considering selling my 4010 back to the son of its original owner and getting a 4020 again. It’s not a main tractor here but I use it for grinding feed, square baler, raking hay and PTO on augers. I consider getting a Powershift but will settle for a Synchro again. Have found a 1966 4020 SR with over 10,000 hours and never had an engine overhaul. It is the original owner of it. He has replaced the clutches once or twice and rebuilt the injection pump. History of regular oil changes at 100 hours. He says it runs good and uses no oil. He repainted it several years ago. 16.9x38 rear tires that are good. I haven’t looked at it yet. Waiting for warmer weather to do a proper test drive. He’s retired and 83. Seems honest. $10,500. Would you consider buying a tractor like this for light use? There are quite a few 4020’s for sale but it’s the current collectors tractor and prices are wild. Another guy wants $16,000 for a 1968 4020 Powershift with a few more things done to it. But he will probably take less. What are your thoughts? I’m on the final decade of farming and it’s just a want, not a need at all. Thanks.
This is the only question on this model. Have several others in the shed already. 3020,4240,4450,7410 and 8100. | |
