Straight up question. Is there any correlation between Hereford breeders trying to put more color around the eyes and their predisposition to have solid black calves? Maybe some other breed (like Red Angus) who will occasionally throw black calves hiding in the wood pile? Asking for a friend.

A Red Angus won't throw a black calf. If the calf comes out black it would have to be from a black parent.

Black is dominant over red.

2 reds won't make a black.
