 Eastern Washington State | I leave my stripper stubble tall over the winter to catch snow, but then I mow it off about 12" high in the spring before I chem fallow the field. I've had really good luck doing no-till chem fallow this way. I think leaving the stubble tall coming into spring helps suppress the weed growth, but then mowing off everything over 12" high gives me good ground cover while still leaving enough stubble to protect the soil from the wind. | |
